OUTSTANDING YOUNG HERO FROM United States RECEIVES AWARD IN MEMORY OF PRINCESS DIANA
Young person from United States is honoured with The Diana Award for going above and beyond in their daily life to create and sustain positive change.
Mahealani Sims-Tulba aged 18, from United States has been recognised with the highest accolade a young person can achieve for social action or humanitarian efforts – The Diana Award. This year The Diana Award celebrates its 20th anniversary year.
Established in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, the Award is given out by the charity of the same name and has the support of both her sons, The Duke of Cambridge and The Duke of Sussex.

Mahealani Sims Tulba
As a survivor of bullying, Mahea founded the Be Respectful and Value Everyone (B.R.A.V.E) non-profit organization in 2013 to bring awareness to students against bullying, by speaking to schools while promoting the values of kindness and respectfulness, goal setting, personal development and motivation. Mahea works hard in the community to spread her message. She wrote and illustrated the book, “It’s Okay to Be Different” based on her experiences and hosts her own radio and TV shows.

HSTA Social Justice Summit
Congratulations Mahealani Sims Tulba, ’18, on being named one of Hawaii’s top two youth volunteers of 2018 by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a nationwide program honoring young people for outstanding acts of volunteerism!
As a Hawaii State Honoree Mahea will receive $1,000, an engraved silver medallion and an all-expense-paid trip in April to Washington, DC, where she will join the top two honorees from each of the other states and the District of Columbia for four days of national recognition events.
